Unique Features of A Bespoke Staircase

Staircases are one of the most interesting and fascinating parts of any house, especially if they are made from exotic material. Teak, oak, pine, granite, stone and marble are one of the more common materials used in most of the stair construction throughout the world. But let’s face it, how many people can actually afford a granite staircase?

Bespoke is a term that refers to a British slang meaning custom made to suit the client. A bespoke staircase is a staircase that is somewhat custom made to suit the owner’s wants or needs. They say that a staircase a way to judge the class of a house. It may be expensive, but investing in a custom bespoke staircase will definitely bring big bonus points and improve first impressions. But who does one see to construct and design a bespoke staircase?

Usually interior designers or architects would be glad to design a staircase that would best suit your house. Just remember that staircases need space, depend on the style and design, you may need a little to a lot of extra room. There are also a myriad of materials to choose from, some materials best complement ones house for example. A nice white house would look better with a marble staircase with nice wooden railings. Whereas a wooden house would look much better with a sullen looking wooden staircase. Don’t forget that there are also a variety of different styles of banisters and spindles to choose from. Another thing to take into consideration Is whether you want your stairs to be covered in carpet or not, carpets are good in cold countries where during winter the floor becomes really cold. Though carpets are not always practical especially in a house with a lot of kids, as they will often get stained or eventually get ruined. Staircases also come in a variety of shapes, from those grand staircases which showcase the lavishness of the household, to the simpler L shaped staircases.

At the end of the day, a bespoke staircase will definitely make your house homier to you and your guests. If you can manage to find someone to do it, you will definitely enjoy your house much more. Guests will definitely compliment you on your excellent choice of interior design, and most definitely if you choose the right designer, your bespoke staircase should complement your house nicely.

Staircases That Set The Style

Simply a staircase is a staircase, right? It’s not really that simple. What is known for sure is that a staircase is used to bridge the gap between two vertical areas. This is generally a larger vertical area that with the construction of steps and eventually a staircase that gap is solved. Staircases can be straight, round a combination of the two or anything the designer chooses.

If one is referring to a home usually upon entering the staircase is one of the first things that people see. The design of a staircase can literally lay the style for the whole home. Depending on the style, size, materials and color much can be said from a staircase. In many older movies elaborate staircases designs were used to introduce characters dramatically into the movie. I am sure most everyone remembers Snow White’s descent on the staircase from the ball where she leaves he glass slipper.

Over the years the designs for staircases has become quite elaborate in many homes. As well as the style of the staircase the materials one uses will say a lot as well. Staircases can be made from metal, wood, cement and even glass to name a few. As well as in homes in many new buildings built the design of the staircase is very important. It is basically what brings the whole structure together whether it is a home or a building. It is the link between the joining of each floor to have the structure complete.
Many things would be considered when designing a staircase. How big it is? What type of usage will it get on a daily basis? Is the need for more practical or maybe more modern? Is the staircase the main focal point of the structure? All of these things need to be considered. Depending on the size of the project for the staircase you may have a designer or even an architect working on this. Or it may be as simple as laying some concrete or hammering some wood together.

Either way if help is needed there are many places available to assist with this. Many local home stores will be lots of help. If it’s more advanced than this then there are also many skilled trades’ people able to assist. The internet is also a wonderful place to find out lots of great information. Really makes one think when asked “a staircase is just a staircase right?”
